Man charged with retaliation against witness after attack at restaurant
Source: The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tenn.迷你倉Aug. 22--Three years ago, Marcus Dotson was accused of using a gun to rob a man who gave him a ride, taking money, jewelry and a music player.Dotson, now 21, was arrested and put on trial in April. However, a hung jury failed to convict him in the case, voting 11-1 for guilty.Now, Dotson is in trouble again after allegedly attacking a witness who testified against him in that case.On July 20, Dotson and his girlfriend were eating at the Cheddar's restaurant at 2147 N. Germantown Parkway.Apparently, as they were leaving, Dotson spotted the witness, who was working at the restaurant. Dotson accused the witness of testifying against him in the robbery case, then punched him in the face. According to police, Dotson then grabbed a nearby steak knife and began beating the witness with the wooden handle. Dotson then apparently turned the knife around and began stabbing and cutting the witness.Customers an文件倉 employees broke up the fight, pushing Dotson outside and away as the victim retreated to the kitchen. By the time police arrived, Dotson was gone. The witness survived the attack.Police went to look for Dotson at the address they had on file for him, but he was no longer there. They caught up with him Tuesday.Now, Dotson will be spending a little time in the criminal justice system.
